Abaco Wines & Wine Bar

Tucked away on the second floor of Palm Court in the Miami Design District lies the beautiful bespoke wine shop. Abaco Wines & Wine Bar offers a wine 101 class series, weekly wine tastings, a corkage program and more.

If you’re a rookie entering the wine world, you may want to attend Abaco’s Wine 101 series. Every Saturday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Abaco’s Certified Sommeliers will teach you everything you need to know about wines, from how to differentiate a Chardonnay and a Sauvignon Blanc to how to pair wine and food. The class sizes are kept small, between 1 to 12 guests and give you an in depth, focused, educational and fun class environment. The next time you visit a restaurant with an extensive wine list, you will be prepared. Each class can include the following topic:

  • Old Word versus New World Wines
  • Bordeaux varietals around the world
  • Pinot Noir around the world
  • Regionally Specific wines
  • The how’s and why’s of wine and food pairing

Abaco also stepped it up a notch with their weekly tastings every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The tasting are fun, relaxed and bring an original twist to compete with the traditional “wine and cheese” pairing. Abaco Wines partners with local restaurants such as The Salty Donut, Kush by Lokal, Pubbelly Sushi and more. Hey, you may end up at a tasting that pairs the fine wines with fried chicken!

In addition, Abaco Wines & Wine Bar has partnered with restaurants in Miami to offer an added benefit for their customers. When you purchase a bottle of wine at Abaco, you can take your receipt within seven days to a partnering restaurant. The restaurant will then waive your corkage fee. Participating restaurants include Estefan Kitchen, Mandolin Aegean Bistro, Beaker & Grey, Macaluso’s, Artisan Beach House in the Ritz Carlton Bal Harbour, Kush by Lokal and the list keeps growing!
