Dad. Pops. Papa. Old Man. Call him what you like, but this Sunday make sure you celebrate him in true Miami fashion. We’ve got some spots–from Sunrise to Miami Beach–that he will love. And whether you feel like splurging on dad or not (we think you should) there’s a plan for every budget.
For a $0 Budget
Take dad to CityPlace Doral, where they are hosting a superhero-themed Father’s Day celebration. On Sunday, June 17 from 1PM- 4PM, the main plaza at CityPlace will have arts and crafts booths, hero sightings and even giveaways. Catch the fountain displays dance to the beat of the music, or take the staircase for a movie with the family at CineBistro (not $0 tho).
For the Budget Doesn’t Matter
Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann is inviting you and the grillmaster to an intimate Grilling Masterclass at Faena Miami Beach. From 12PM- 4pM, Chef de Cuisine Cristian Menendez will teach live-fire cooking techniques that you and pops can drool over. Some items on the menu include smoked shrimp, salt-crusted whole red snapper, and the beef tenderloin milanesa.
The experience includes wine pairings and a signed copy of Francis Mallmann’s best-selling cookbook and recipe card. Grilling Masterclass priced at $195 per guest, exclusive of tax and service charge. Tickets available here. For more information, call 786-655-600 or email losfuegos@faena.com.
If you prefer not to work for your food, then stay for their Father’s Day Asado Brunch priced at $115 for adults (includes bottomless drink specials) and $45 for children (aged 5-12, without the bottomless drinks, duh). And because Faena is lit, all fathers receive a complimentary hand-rolled cigar after feasting on all the meats and seafood.
For the Sigo Pa’Lante Papa
Willy Chirino wants to party it up with you and dad this Sunday at the James L Knight Center. The clock is ticking so get your tickets today. Seats can range from $49 to upwards of $199. The concert starts at 7PM so leave early and catch a bite before the show.
For the Dad that Watches The Voice
He’s probably into Adam Levine and wants to catch Maroon 5 in concert this Sunday. In which case, you will need to make the drive to the BB&T Center in Sunrise. Then expect to put down a couple Benjamins to put a big smile on dad’s face.
