GroundUP Music Festival Returns to Miami Beach for Its 11th Edition

The GroundUP Music Festival returns to the oceanfront Miami Beach Bandshell March 12–14, 2027, for its 11th edition. The festival marks more than a decade of collaborations and performances with another three days by the sea.

GroundUP is known for its genre-defying ethos and for drawing music lovers from across the globe. Each year’s lineup spans jazz, rock, soul, funk, R&B, electronic, hip-hop, world music, singer-songwriter and more, celebrating the creativity, innovation and diversity of today’s music scene.

The festival is presented by the GroundUP Music Foundation and was co-founded by Michael League of Snarky Puppy and veteran arts leader Paul Lehr. It brings together some of today’s most celebrated artists for three days of music and uniquely deep engagement with the audience.

Friday: An Intimate Benefit for 150 Guests

The weekend opens Friday, March 12, with the GroundUP Music Foundation Benefit, a non-profit, tax-deductible all-day event limited to 150 attendees. Guests get exclusive access to closed rehearsals with Snarky Puppy and other festival guest artists.

Rehearsals are followed by cocktails and an intimate dinner and hang with the artists. The day concludes with private shows, including a full set by Snarky Puppy and other featured artists to be announced. Get benefit tickets.

Saturday and Sunday: Family Dinner, Full Sets and Masterclasses

Saturday, March 13 and Sunday, March 14 feature nightly Family Dinner sessions, with Snarky Puppy backing a diverse array of music icons as guests with the band. Snarky Puppy will also play a full set each night, including music from their newest album, Somni.

Daily full band sets come from artists including DOMi & JD Beck, Charlie Hunter & Ella Feingold, The Rumble, and Lionel Loueke & Gretchen Parlato.

GroundUP will also continue its longstanding tradition of breaking down the barrier between artists and audience. Daily interactive workshops, masterclasses and panels with members of Snarky Puppy and the weekend’s other featured artists create a unique space for engagement and learning. Specific masterclasses and interactive events will be announced in the coming weeks.

What Is Family Dinner?

Snarky Puppy won two Grammy awards for their live records Family Dinner Volumes 1 and 2, which feature a different artist or vocalist on each track. Each guest collaborated with the band on new arrangements, recorded in front of a live studio audience seated among the musicians and filmed in a cinematic, multicamera style.

The festival’s nightly Family Dinner sets bring that concept to the stage, live, with a new slate of guest artists.

From the Founders

“Being able to return to Miami Beach for our 11th year is so special. After last year’s milestone 10th anniversary, we’re very excited to continue breaking boundaries and creating unique and unforgettable moments,” said League. “Every year we bring different voices and styles, and that diversity, that conversation across genres, is at the heart of what GroundUP is all about.”

“Following last year’s momentous final evening when Miami Beach Commissioner, Tanya Bhatt, officially declared March 15 as GroundUP Music Festival Day, we are excited to, once again, gather extraordinary artists for three days of performances, collaboration, and experiences that continue to celebrate music, creativity, and community,” said Lehr.
