The h.wood Group — the team behind Delilah, The Nice Guy and Bootsy Bellows — will open Bar Shishi on September 19, an intimate Japanese-inspired cocktail bar tucked inside RIVANI, Robert Rivani’s $125 million ultra-luxury redevelopment near Lincoln Road.
The 12-seat bar occupies a nearly 2,000-square-foot hideaway on RIVANI’s third floor, marked by a signature guardian lion at its discreet entrance.
Behind the bar, Certified Japanese Ice Master Kevin Lee brings 13 years of experience and an estimated 30,000 hand-carved ice spheres to the program, which features hand-carved diamond ice, kakigōri-style shaved ice, Japanese cobbler shaking and cocktail throwing. The drinks blend Japanese technique with Miami flavor — house-made bitters, tinctures and infusions add an umami edge, while rum and tropical fruit bring a local touch. Standouts include the Guava Kakigōri, layering rum, guava, yuzu and shiso over shaved ice, and the Hakushu 12 Old Fashioned, served over one of Lee’s hand-carved ice diamonds.
The food menu includes Hamachi Crudo with yuzu ponzu, serrano and shiso; the Lion Crunch Roll with crab, avocado, tuna and sweet soy; Chicken Karaage with Bulldog sauce; Wagyu Katsu featuring A5 Wagyu and caramelized onions in milk bread; and a Caviar Service.
Sound comes courtesy of Eddie Mac, musical director and record curator for Anderson .Paak’s DJ Pee .Wee project, who selected more than 100 records spanning deep house, funk, soul, disco and Latin specifically for the space.
Bar Shishi is part of Rivani’s larger vision for RIVANI, where work, wellness and hospitality share one address. The bar also offers 108 private spirits lockers, giving annual members personalized bottle storage with custom-engraved plaques, priority reservations and direct concierge access.
