Top-Down Season Just Got an Upgrade: Maserati’s New GranCabrio, GranTurismo and Grecale Have Arrived

Maserati is celebrating a milestone year the only way it knows how: with something beautiful and fast. The Italian marque has debuted the new Grecale, new GranTurismo and new GranCabrio, three refreshed models built to strengthen its place in the luxury segment, arriving in the very same year its iconic Trident logo turns 100.

The update leans into everything the brand is known for: design, elegance, performance, craftsmanship, and a human-centric approach to technology.

Santo Ficili, Maserati COO, stated: “With the new Trident range, we are strengthening the distinctive quality that has always defined us: Italian Gran Turismo, where design, elegance, performance and masterful craftsmanship come together in a balance of elegance that is never ostentatious, yet always performance oriented. All this is made possible by the passion and dedication of our people, together with the strength of our dealer network and partners around the world, who help embody the values of the Maserati brand every day. For over 112 years, we have interpreted contemporary luxury in a distinctive way and aim to grow further in this segment, expanding our product offering and investing in the technologies that best express its character: from the development of iconic powertrains such as the V6 Nettuno to the evolution of the performance of the Folgore range, with a technological strategy aligned with the expectations of our customers.”

A Sharper Face, Born on the Track

The new look completes a design journey the Maserati Centro Stile team started with the MCXtrema, the track-only car that let the brand experiment with a more horizontal, sharper and more aggressive front end.

That language moved to the road with the GT2 Stradale, was refined on the MCPURA, and now lands on the GranTurismo, the GranCabrio and the Grecale D-SUV.

GranTurismo and GranCabrio: Italian Grand Touring, Refined

Heirs to the original Maserati GranTurismo launched in 2007, and renewed in 2022 and 2023 respectively, the coupé and its open-top sibling return with updates to design, driving dynamics and perceived quality. The GranTurismo is the pure coupé; the GranCabrio brings the same DNA to open-air driving with four genuine seats, a fabric soft top, and strong thermal and acoustic comfort.

Under the hood, the 3.0-L V6 Nettuno delivers up to 582 hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque, with a top speed of over 199 mph in the GranTurismo Trofeo. A new engine and transmission calibration sharpens response, and the Sportivo exhaust comes standard in North America on all internal combustion GranTurismo and GranCabrio trims. Every version gets all-wheel drive plus standard air spring suspension with adjustable set-up and height.

Each model comes in three versions:

  • The 483-hp entry version features Crio wheels, satin chrome details and a full-grain leather cabin, with wood trim on the GranTurismo and carbon-fiber panels on the GranCabrio.
  • The 582-hp Trofeo (up 40 hp compared to the prior MY) adds forged Pegaso wheels, exposed carbon fiber, an Alcantara headliner, E-LSD and a sports exhaust, with RED and ICE leather inside.
  • The 751-hp Folgore brings the family into the electric era with torque vectoring. The GranTurismo Folgore reaches 202 mph, while the GranCabrio Folgore, the first fully electric cabriolet in its segment, reaches 180 mph.

The Folgore runs an 800-volt, three-motor system and a 92.5-kWh “T-bone” battery that keeps the car just 53 in tall, the lowest among electric cars. A new energy management algorithm brings the GranTurismo Folgore to a range of more than 250 miles.

Outside, the front end is fully redesigned with reshaped air intakes, a CFD-developed air curtain and a central splitter for more front downforce, while new clear lenses update the rear lights. Optional gloss-black Tridente wheels, inspired by the MCPURA Cielo, widen the track by 10 mm.

Personalization goes further than ever. For the first time, the Fuoriserie Customization Program, folded into the BOTTEGAFUORISERIE project at the end of 2025, extends full Bespoke personalization to the soft top. Seven new exterior colors join the palette: Green Jupiter Matte, Blu Denim, Bronzo Lucido or Matte, Grigio Mistero, Rosso Velluto and Oro Lirico, alongside color-coordinated badges and new Bordeaux leather, Nude Alcantara, Black and Tan leather, and Mahogany trim.

Inside, a new racing-inspired steering wheel, a renewed octagonal Maserati Digital Clock, and redesigned graphics across a 12.3” central display, an 8.8” Comfort display, a 12.2” instrument cluster and a head-up display set the tone. A new monitoring system detects driver distraction and fatigue, and the Airscarf, standard on the Trofeo and Folgore trims, stretches top-down season into cooler months.

Grecale: The Grand Touring Spirit in SUV Form

Presented in April 2022 and marketed from 2023, the Grecale opened a new category for Maserati. The new version is billed as the brand’s most complete luxury SUV, pairing room on par with the segment above with a sportier character and everyday usability.

The front fascia is lower and more pronounced, with a “shark-nose” bumper in line with the MCPURA and side air curtains that channel airflow along the wheel arches. New 20” Asteria and 21” Crono wheels and the new Grigio Lamiera Shiny from the Fuoriserie Customization Program finish the profile.

The headline under the hood is a new entry-level Grecale V6 with the 385-hp V6 Nettuno, already found on the Modena V6 trim. Its calibration delivers +32% more torque than the former 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine at 2,000 rpms. At the top, the Trofeo V6 goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches 177 mph.

The electric Grecale Folgore keeps its 239-to-268-mile maximum range from the previous MY26 generation, and aerodynamic refinements, new energy algorithms, more efficient tires and a new Air Grille Shutter now add 6 miles on 20” wheels and as much as 33 miles on 21” wheels.

Inside, every touchpoint is new: an octagonal steering wheel with a six o’clock spoke, a digital clock with a mineral crystal dial, and a PRND selector with capacitive haptic technology and real metal buttons. Highlights include air suspension, the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) with a 12.3” Ultra HD display, a reconfigurable head-up display, and an EISA Award-winning Sonus faber Audio System with up to 21 speakers and 1,285 W. Drive modes cover GT, Off-Road, Sport and Corsa (Trofeo only), with Max Range added on the Folgore.

In North America, the range now includes four versions: Grecale V6, Grecale Modena V6, Grecale Trofeo and the fully electric Grecale Folgore.

Made in Italy, a Century in the Making

All three models are developed and produced in Italy, in Modena and Cassino. The timing is symbolic: this year Maserati celebrates both the Trident’s centenary and the first racing win in its history, scored by Alfieri Maserati in the legendary Tipo 26 at the 1926 Targa Florio.

Sustainability is built in too. Leather interiors come from suppliers certified to Leather Working Group (LWG) standards, an organization Maserati has joined as an active member. A line of Maserati Genuine Accessories, designed for each model, rounds out the range.

Build Yours, Cinema-Style

Alongside the launch, Maserati is rolling out an omnichannel campaign and a new Maserati Web Configurator. The photorealistic platform matches the performance of the dealership configurator, setting each car in a redesigned 3D environment and a cinematic 21:9 widescreen format, on any device and in every market.

In other words, you can start spec’ing your Bronzo Lucido GranCabrio from the couch before you ever step into a showroom.
