Amazon Fires Up Miami

Amazon fired up Miami at the eighth annual Hispanicize conference. Amazon showcased their latest Fire and Kindle devices, and hosted a discussion panel. Amazon’s expo space gave guests the ability to test out devices such as the Kindle, Fire Tablets and the Fire TV. Amazon also held a Literary Panel Discussion on self-publishing where they welcomed nearly 100 guests at the JW Marriott Marquis.

The panel was moderated by Amazon’s head of publishing, Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), Carlos Lievano. The panel featured commentary by best-selling author and internationally acclaimed broadcast personality, Ismael Cala, as well as KDP published authors, Susana Mohel and Luis Eduardo Baron.

Amazon’s self-publishing tool Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) provides writers and publishers a seamless and free way to make their eBooks available to Kindle readers around the world. Amazon has also launched the Kindle Create (beta mode) to help authors easily covert a Word document into an eBook.

Amazon Direct Publishing allows you to get to market fast, make more money, keep control and publish in digital and print. Publishing can take less than five minutes and the book will appear in the Kindle store within 24-48 hours. The royalty earned can be up to 70% on sales to German, Indian, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian, Mexican and Australian customers. As the publisher or writer you can control your rights and set your own listing prices as well as have the ability to make changes to your books at any time. KDP gives the ability to publish Kindle eBooks and paperbacks for free.
